In short, a WKBook (read web kibuk ) is a compact dynamic and portable website with the same content as its KBook but developed entirely with web technology and made interactive thanks to embedded applications written in JavaScript and Lua. That is, in addition to the hypertext content, we also have the web applications needed to perform specific tasks such as numerical calculation, graphics and animations.

WKBook is an excellent solution for creating scientific and technical publications of any complexity with numerous formulas and advanced graphics. Thanks to the built-in applications, WKBook is a very valid tool for theses and interactive courses, illustrations and any kind of data and information without particular limits. WKBook, being portable, we can use it online or offline in the same way, without any modification. To read and interact with the contents of WKBook you need a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge...), practically present on all computers.

In order to use the WKBooks, you must have Tanit platform installed on your computer. We remind you that the Tanit platform is free and open source.

Nota Bene
WKBooks, thanks to their flexibility, dynamism and interactivity, systematically solve the problems of the EPUB format as well as those of the PDF when it comes to producing scientific and technical texts containing many formulas, advanced graphics and embedded applications.

WKBook Features

A WKBook is by definition an essential and minimalist potable website, but this does not mean it should be considered limited or incomplete. In fact, it's quite the opposite. As a general rule, a WKBook should be well-designed and developed to effectively solve real-world problems by providing accurate data and information on a specific topic. As a result, the WKBook was developed to be used in corporate, professional, and academic environments.

The key is to ensure that the content and applications are well done and then presented in a simple, clear, and effective manner to ensure that they are immediately and effectively used. This will make it easy for users to understand and improve them.

The Gigantism Syndrome

A WKBook, being a website, generally has no physical limits apart from the available space on the hard disk or a USB key. Consequently, a WKBook could expand infinitely. However, this situation should be strictly avoided as it goes against the purpose of this solution. Once the content and applications are comprehensive, we should focus only on minor enhancements and necessary extensions without altering the existing ones. It's important to remember that something is considered complete when nothing more can be removed from it, otherwise, it will be deemed incomplete.

WKBooks Development

A WKBook can be created by one, two, or a group of people. However, it's unlikely that a single person could handle everything alone, especially when it comes to applications, graphics, and animations. Therefore, the optimal scenario involves a team of developers, with each person contributing their specific skills. This collaborative approach can lead to excellent results.
